Our Story
We didn’t set out to start a tour company.
We built a life, and this grew from it.
Where it all started....
More than twenty years ago, we met in Marrakech. Amanda was an American traveler curious about culture, and Youssef was a proud Moroccan who loved sharing his country through its stories and food. Over time, our worlds blended: language, family, traditions, recipes. Morocco became more than where we lived; it became where we belonged.
When we moved back to Marrakech to raise our children, we wanted them to grow up surrounded by the same generosity, warmth, and connection that had shaped us. That is the spirit behind Moroccan Food & Family Adventures—helping travelers experience Morocco not as tourists but as welcomed guests at the table.
Our work began with a single street food tour in Marrakech, created to show visitors what the locals know: the dishes families share at home, the markets where life happens, the rhythm of everyday hospitality. Over the years, those experiences have expanded into multi-day Morocco tours and culinary adventures across the country, from the Atlas Mountains to the Atlantic coast and deep into the Sahara.
Our ethos is simple: Connection first. Respect always. Authenticity above all.
We are a family-owned and fully licensed company in both Morocco and the United States. We collaborate only with trusted guides and local partners who share our values—storytellers who bring Morocco’s culture to life, hosts who treat you like family, and artisans paid fairly for their craft.
Our Moroccan food adventures are not about checking boxes or following a script. They are about slowing down, tasting what is real, and discovering Morocco through the people who call it home. Whether you join us for a single evening in Marrakech or a full week exploring from Fez to Essaouira, our goal is always the same: to help you feel connected, cared for, and completely at home.
This business has always been, at its heart, a family story—ours and the many we have been lucky enough to become part of.
From Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix to trusted travel companions like Fodor’s and Lonely Planet to newspaper articles and podcasts, our food tours have been featured time and again with glowing reviews for the amazing experiences we offer our clients.

We believe that a good guide makes the difference between having a memorable experience and ruining an amazing location. That’s why we seek out and hire the best-licensed guides we can find. Not only do they know the background, but they also share a love and passion for Moroccan food and storytelling. We hope by the end of your tour, your guide will become your new friend in Morocco.
